Business Consulting

Positioning, pricing, systems and where automation actually pays off, mapped to your numbers rather than a template.

// Service 08 ¡ Business Consulting

An outside read on what is actually holding you back.

Most established businesses do not need another supplier. They need somebody to look at the whole picture and say plainly which of the twelve things they are worrying about actually matters.

We spend our days inside other people's operations — their websites, their search, their customer data, their automations. That vantage point is unusually good for spotting the difference between a problem worth solving and an expensive distraction.

So this is advice, not delivery. Where AI genuinely helps and where it is a fashionable waste of money. Which systems are quietly duplicating each other. Where your customers are really coming from. What to do first, and what to leave alone.

// Why businesses call us in

Four conversations we keep having.

If one of these sounds like a meeting you had recently, that is the problem this service exists for.

01

Everyone says we should be using AI

Nobody can say for what. Meanwhile you are being sold six tools a week by people who have never seen how your business runs.

02

We pay for software we barely use

Subscriptions accumulate for years. Half of them overlap, several were bought for a person who has since left, and nobody has audited the lot.

03

We do not know what is working

Money goes out across several channels and leads come in, but nobody can draw a line between the two with any confidence.

04

Everything depends on one person

A process lives in somebody's head or a spreadsheet only they understand, and the business quietly stops when they are away.

// What we look at

Four areas, depending on what you need.

Most engagements touch two or three of these. Very few need all four at once.

Digital strategy & AI adoption

Where AI and automation genuinely earn their place in your business, in what order, and — just as usefully — what to ignore entirely.

Systems & process audit

Every tool you pay for and every manual step between them. What overlaps, what can be automated, and what should simply be cancelled.

Marketing & growth strategy

Where your customers actually come from versus where the budget goes, and which channels deserve more before you spend another pound on any of them.

Ongoing advisory

A standing outside perspective. Regular sessions and somebody to call before a decision, rather than after it has gone wrong.

Written findings

You get a document, not just a good meeting. Ranked recommendations, with the reasoning, that you can act on with or without us.

Prioritised, not exhaustive

Anyone can produce a list of forty problems. The value is in knowing which three to do this quarter and which thirty-seven to leave.

Vendor-neutral

If the answer is a tool we do not sell, or a supplier who is not us, that is what the report will say.

Yours to keep

The findings, the documentation and any process maps belong to you, whether you hire us to act on them or not.

// The honest bit

We sell things. That is worth saying out loud.

Any agency offering consulting has an obvious conflict of interest. Here is how we handle ours.

What you can expect

Advice that stands on its own.

  • Recommendations that name tools and suppliers we have no stake in
  • A clear note wherever a recommendation happens to be something we sell
  • Being told when the answer is to do nothing for now
  • Findings written so another supplier could act on them
  • No obligation whatsoever to hire us for the work
What we get out of it

Sometimes the work. Often not.

  • Plenty of engagements end with a report and nothing else
  • Some lead to a project, quoted separately and on its own merits
  • A few conclude that your current suppliers are doing fine
  • We would rather be right than be hired

// How it runs

Short, scoped, and it produces something.

Consulting has a reputation for being expensive conversation. This is structured so it ends in a document you can act on.

01

A conversation, free

What is bothering you and what you have already tried. If we are not the right people, this is where we say so and it has cost you nothing.

Before anything
02

Scope and fixed quote

Which areas we are looking at, how deep, what you get at the end and what it costs. Agreed in writing before we start.

Week zero
03

We go and look

Interviews with the people doing the work, access to the systems and the numbers, and a proper look at what is actually happening rather than what the org chart says.

The main stretch
04

Findings, ranked

A written document: what we found, what it is costing you, and what to do about it in priority order with rough effort against each.

On delivery
05

Then it is your call

Act on it yourself, hand it to your existing suppliers, or ask us to quote. Some clients keep us on for regular sessions; most do not need to.

After

Every engagement is scoped and quoted individually, because a systems audit for a six-person firm and one for a national operation are not the same job.

// Where we are useful

The ground we actually know.

We are not general management consultants. This is the territory where our opinion is worth paying for.

  • AI & automation
  • Websites & conversion
  • Search visibility
  • Customer data & CRM
  • Lead flow & follow-up
  • eCommerce operations
  • Software spend
  • Marketing measurement

If your question sits outside this — employment law, tax structure, funding — we will tell you and, where we can, point you at someone who does it properly.

// Before you ask

Questions we get every week.

Do I have to be a client already?

No. A good share of the businesses we advise have their own developers or another agency entirely. An outside read is often more useful precisely because we are not the ones who built the thing.

What does it cost?

Every engagement is scoped and quoted individually, because the work varies enormously with the size of the business and how many areas you want looked at. The first conversation is free and carries no obligation.

Is this just a sales pitch for your other services?

It would be a poor one, since plenty of engagements end with a report and no further work. Where a recommendation happens to be something we sell, we flag it as such so you can weigh it accordingly.

How long does an engagement take?

Most run a few weeks rather than a few months. We would rather give you three things to do now than spend a quarter producing a document nobody reads.

What do I actually receive?

A written set of findings and recommendations in priority order, with the reasoning and rough effort for each, plus whatever process maps or documentation came out of the work. Written so another supplier could pick it up.

What if you find nothing much wrong?

Then we say so, and that is a legitimate outcome. Knowing your setup is sound is worth something, and it is a great deal cheaper than changing things that were working.

Start with a conversation.

Tell us what is bothering you and what you have already tried. The first conversation costs nothing, and if we are not the right people we will say so.

Please note, that even though we use AI for your on-site updates to be in full SEO compliance. Due to the amount of content creation and setup work involved with each SEO plan, we DO NOT provide any refunds or money back guarantees. Partial refunds may be given under certain circumstances. This is a common practice with all responsible and professional interactive marketing companies.
